About us

Due to concerns about Coronavirus Covid-19 we have temporarily suspended our weekly: Bridge Club, Toddlers, Indoor bowls, Luncheon Club, Community Coffee Morning and our monthly Dementia Friendly Cafe. We are open for our Weekly Sunday morning worship services which are also being videoed and put on the Chapel website, YouTube and Facebook. Scripts are also available on the Chapel webiste ("Worship" page)

Who are we?

We are a United Reformed Church based in Bamford in Rochdale. Originally we were two churches: Bamford Chapel United Reformed Church and Norden United Reformed Church in neighbouring areas of Rochdale. In September 2014 we became one church – Bamford Chapel and Norden United Reformed Church.
We are a church of 125 members that comprise all ages. We have a junior church on a Sunday morning and a youth group that meets on a Sunday evening - God Squad meets at 7.30pm this groups is for secondary school aged youngsters.

What we believe

As you will see from our homepage we have a logo “Loving God, Serving Others, Building Community”. In 2013-14 we began a prayerful process of “Seeking God’s vision for Bamford Chapel”. Our minister, Richard, convened a small group of people tasked to look at our vision. We used “The Purpose Driven Church” by Rick Warren as a discussion starter for this small group. Stemming from that we held several meetings with members and five “core groups” were set up. These five core areas are: “Worship”; “Evangelism”; “Fellowship”; “Ministry” and “Discipleship” (not listed in any order of priority). All that we do as a church fits under one of these core group. Hence the menu at the top of our homepage having each of these listed. If you need any further information do not hesitate to contact Richard Bradley, our minister, on 01706 369622 or richardbradley@cantab.net

We believe that when we truly Love God with all our hearts we will be committed to Serving Others both locally and further afield so that we can Build Community – the Church.
